Beast of Reincarnation Update 1.0.8: Official Patch Notes
Official Beast of Reincarnation v1.0.8 patch notes: camera distance, DLSS 4/4.5, FSR 4, controls, subtitles, balance, and bug fixes.
Fictions and Game Freak published Beast of Reincarnation PC Patch Notes: v1.0.8 on August 15, 2026. This guide translates the official list into the questions players are most likely to search after installing the update. It does not claim that a planned feature is already live.
What Beast of Reincarnation v1.0.8 changes
The official announcement lists three new camera-distance choices: Close, Medium, and Far. It also further adjusts the camera during and outside combat. If the previous camera made Koo, Emma, or a boss hard to see, test the three presets in the same arena before changing other settings.
The patch adds DLSS 4/4.5 (L/M) and FSR 4. Frame generation is not part of this release; the announcement places frame generation in the future-work list. That distinction matters for PC troubleshooting: installing v1.0.8 does not mean a frame-generation toggle must be present.
Controls and subtitle settings
The Interact action can now be freely remapped, and mouse side buttons are supported. After updating, check the binding in a safe area before testing it during a boss encounter. The patch also adds subtitle sizes from Extra Small through Extra Large, so players who previously found dialogue difficult to read can adjust the setting without a third-party workaround.
The update changes the default state of Auto-Target Attack, Auto-Target Parry, and Auto-Target Switch to off. If your old combat habit depended on those assists, review the settings after the update rather than assuming your previous input behavior remains unchanged.
Early-game and exploration changes
The early portion of the game now includes more target markers. The Pilgrim’s Zone main route is also shorter: the official note says players can go directly to the Belfry. This is a route-pacing change, not a promise that every optional encounter or exploration reward has been removed.
Emma no longer takes damage from falling or from some partially submerged situations. That should make it easier to test traversal without confusing environmental damage with combat damage, but it does not make every fall or water hazard harmless.
Combat, boss, and Bloom Art adjustments
The developer adjusted some boss behavior, enemy positions, and Bloom Arts damage and healing. The official announcement does not publish a complete boss-by-boss table or replacement damage values. Treat the patch as a reason to re-test a build, not as evidence for an invented tier list.
The patch also fixes a performance issue that could occur when Kiku: Bloom Strike activated End of the Line. Another fix addresses cloud streaming when delayed enemy spawning could block progression. If either issue was affecting your run, record the location, settings, and build before and after the update so a remaining problem can be reported clearly.
What v1.0.8 listed as planned — and where it landed
The official post listed future work: skippable events and cutscenes, ultrawide support, frame generation, faster healing after taking damage, less movement slowdown while healing, and more fixes for boss cameras, collision, cutscenes, and Koo obscuring the view. None of those were v1.0.8 features.
All of them appear in v1.0.9, published nine days later on August 24, 2026 — ultrawide support, DLSS/FSR frame generation, skippable cutscenes (in batches), healing usable immediately upon taking damage, reduced movement slowdown while healing, boss camera presentation, invisible wall collision, and the Koo field-of-view fix. Collision and the Koo fix were revisited again in v1.0.10. That is an unusually clean delivery record for a roadmap, and it is the reason this page no longer describes the current build.
See the v1.0.9 notes and the current v1.0.10 notes, or the full patch index for every version at once.
Safe post-update checklist
- Restart Steam and confirm the update has finished.
- Check camera distance, upscaling, subtitle size, and auto-target settings.
- Test Interact and any mouse side-button binding in a low-risk area.
- Re-test a previously reproducible boss, Bloom Art, or streaming issue.
- When reporting a remaining bug, include the build, platform, hardware, location, settings, and repeatable steps.
