Downloading it through Xbox Game Pass

On Xbox and Windows there is a second route that does not involve buying the game. Beast of Reincarnation is in the Game Pass catalogue from day one. The Xbox Wire Developer_Direct post states it "will be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on day one, and is an Xbox Play Anywhere and Handheld Optimized title", and the official Xbox game page repeats the same thing as "Play day one with Game Pass · Available August 4, 2026". Microsoft's store entitlement data for product 9NXWSWBM4H6T lists two subscriptions: Xbox Game Pass (console) and PC Game Pass.

Practical consequences for download planning:

• Xbox Play Anywhere — one entitlement, whether bought or subscribed, covers Xbox Series X|S and Windows. You install on both without paying twice, and saves sync.
• Handheld optimized — Microsoft has verified it against supported Windows handhelds, so the 45 GB SSD figure matters there too, on a device where free space is usually tighter.
• Xbox Cloud — the Developer_Direct post lists Xbox Cloud alongside console and PC, which means Ultimate subscribers have a streaming option with no download at all.
• It does not extend to Steam or PlayStation. There is no subscription route on either. If you want it on Steam, you buy it.
• A subscription is not ownership. Access lasts while the game stays in the catalogue, and nothing has been said about how long that will be.

Is there a demo to download right now?

No. GAME FREAK inc. and Fictions never announced a demo, a beta, or a public test build, and none appeared at launch. The "demo" you may have read about in pre-release coverage was a press event — journalists played a timed hands-on build at a Game Freak showcase, not something that was ever downloadable. The full game is the only build there has ever been.

That is worth stating plainly, because "beast of reincarnation demo" and "download" are exactly the queries that fake-installer and repack sites farm. If a page offers you a free download, a cracked installer, or a mobile APK, it is not giving you this game. The Steam link above, App 2001760, is the only PC address worth trusting.

How buying and downloading works

1. Buy on Steam and the download starts straight away — the build is unlocked.
2. The unlock happened at 00:00 UTC on August 4, 2026, the same instant in every region. See the release date page for why some Steam regions displayed the previous day.
3. On Xbox and Windows a Game Pass subscription installs it the same way, with no purchase.

Install size and drive requirements

Steam lists 45 GB of available space, and an SSD is required — not recommended, required. Plan for more than 45 GB free: Steam needs headroom while it unpacks, and the launch build is already at version 1.0.6, so patches have added to the footprint. If your only free space is on a mechanical drive, sort that out before you start the download rather than halfway through it.

PC system requirements at a glance

The short version, from the official Steam listing: you need a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB) class GPU at minimum, 16 GB RAM at both tiers, and 45 GB on an SSD. One detail matters more than the part numbers — both tiers quote 1080p with upscaling in Performance mode, so the 40fps and 60fps figures are already upscaled, not native.

What ships in the box

Steam confirms the following for the PC version: Single-player, Full controller support, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Adjustable Difficulty, Family Sharing. Language support is English and Japanese (full audio), plus French, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, and Spanish (Latin America).

The Deluxe edition is listed at $69.99, and its contents are now itemised on the official pre-order post. On top of the standard pre-order bonus, Deluxe adds an Alternate Black Shiba Skin for Koo, a Big Dipper sword for Emma, an Oni's Hat for Emma, a larger 100,000 Amber grant (the standard edition gives 30,000), and Vegetable Seedlings for in-game use.

The pre-order bonus itself: both editions grant an Alternate Brown Shiba Skin for Koo plus Amber (30,000 standard, 100,000 with Deluxe). That wording comes from the official Steam pre-order announcement and the console storefronts.

Console downloads

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions released the same day and are downloaded through their own storefronts — on Xbox, either as a purchase or through Game Pass. No Nintendo version has been announced. Install sizes for the console builds have not been published; the 45 GB figure above is the PC requirement.

Before you start playing

1. Confirm at least 50–60 GB free on an SSD.
2. Update GPU drivers — both tiers assume upscaling, so driver-side scaling matters.
3. Check your GPU against the table above and decide your upscaling setting in advance.
4. If you want English voice acting, set it from the main menu before starting a save — the in-game options do not expose the audio language.
5. Read the confirmed game info so you know which systems are real and which are still unannounced.
