Beast of Reincarnation PC System Requirements, Decoded

Before pre-load, Fictions and Game Freak said an earlier published PC-specification list contained mistakes and that the updated Steam store requirements were the correct ones. The tables below reflect that current first-party Steam listing, re-checked on 2026-08-08. Both tiers name a target resolution, a target frame rate, and the upscaler assumed to hit it, which changes what “recommended” actually promises.

What these numbers actually tell you

Four things stand out, and all four are read straight off the official notes rather than inferred.

Both tiers are 1080p targets. Neither the minimum nor the recommended row promises 1440p or 4K. Recommended buys you Medium settings at 1080p and 60fps — not a higher resolution. If you want to run above 1080p, you are already past the published guidance and into untested territory until launch benchmarks exist.

Both tiers assume upscaling, in Performance mode. The minimum row expects DLSS or FSR1; the recommended row expects DLSS or FSR3. The parenthetical “(Performance)” is doing real work here — that is the aggressive upscaling preset, not Quality or Balanced. So the quoted 40fps and 60fps figures are already upscaled numbers, not native ones.

An SSD is mandatory, not advisory. Both notes say “SSD required,” and Steam separately lists Gamepad Recommended among the store categories. A mechanical drive is not a supported configuration.

16 GB RAM is the floor and the ceiling. The minimum and recommended rows are identical at 16 GB. The scaling Game Freak expects is on the GPU (8 GB → 12 GB VRAM) and the CPU (i5-8400 → i7-12700K), not on system memory.

The upscaling caveat worth knowing

The minimum note names DLSS (RTX 20-50 Series) in the same breath as a GTX 1070, and the GTX 1070 does not support DLSS — it predates the RTX tensor-core hardware DLSS needs. Read carefully, the note is listing two separate routes to the same target: DLSS if you have an RTX card, FSR1 if you are on the GTX 1070 / RX 580 class of hardware. It is not claiming a GTX 1070 can run DLSS.

That matters practically: if you are on a GTX 1070 or RX 580, plan on FSR1 Performance at 1080p Low, targeting 40fps. That is the official expectation for that hardware, and it is a modest one.

Storage, platform and features

• 45 GB of available space, on an SSD.
• Windows only on Steam. The Steam listing reports Windows support and does not list macOS or Linux. There is no official Steam Deck Verified rating published as of 3 August 2026.
• Steam lists Single-player, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Full controller support (with DualShock and DualSense support noted), Adjustable Difficulty, Custom Volume Controls, Subtitle Options, Stereo Sound, and Family Sharing.
• Languages: full audio in English and Japanese, plus text support for French, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Italian, and Spanish (Latin America).

If you are buying on console instead

What the published specifications still do not answer

The official targets do not promise native-resolution performance, a 1440p or 4K frame rate, or performance on hardware outside the named tiers. They also do not establish the result of a particular driver, display, Steam Deck, or handheld configuration. Those are separate tests, not missing lines in the requirements table.
