Beast of Reincarnation Fuji Frontier Quest Bug: What Players Can Check

Beast of Reincarnation Fuji Frontier quest bug guide: missing headless Golems, missing targets, safe checks, and what to record before requesting a fix.

Confirmed game info

Update, September 3, 2026. There is now an official line that speaks to this. The v1.0.9 patch notes, published on August 24, 2026, list: “Fixed an issue where elite enemies failed to spawn in the Fuji Frontier Zone.” If you are hitting this on an up-to-date install, install the patch first — the current build is v1.0.10.

Two things that fix does not settle, and this page keeps them separate:

  • The notes say elite enemies. The community reports below describe a quest-required headless Golem, a second missing quest target, and a wolf-like enemy at a shrine. Whether all of those are the same defect is not stated anywhere official, so this page does not claim it.
  • A spawn fix is not a save repair. Nothing in the notes says a save already in a broken quest state is corrected retroactively. v1.0.10 did repair one specific stuck-quest case — the Great Wall Terraces boss — which shows the studio will do that when it applies, and it did not say the same about Fuji Frontier.

Patch details are on the v1.0.9 notes page and the v1.0.10 notes page. The original community record follows, unchanged.

The original reports, August 24

The Beast of Reincarnation Fuji Frontier quest bug is a real launch discussion, not a made-up walkthrough problem. A Steam thread had 14 replies when checked on August 24, 2026. Players reported that the quest’s headless Golems would not spawn, a second quest target was missing, and a wolf-like enemy at a shrine did not appear. Reports came from PS5 and Xbox Game Pass players as well as other platforms, and a developer account replied that the issue had been reported to the team.

At the time of that check there was no confirmed player-side fix in the thread. This page separates the symptoms, the low-risk checks, and what should be reported instead of telling you to kill unrelated Golems repeatedly.

Symptoms reported by players

The original Steam post describes a quest that asks the player to defeat headless Golems in Fuji Frontier. The player sees three Golems, but none is the required headless variant, and killing them repeatedly does not complete the quest. The same post says a target from a second quest does not spawn either.

Replies add several related reports:

  • a PS5 player said the same issue appeared after the latest update;
  • an Xbox Game Pass player reported the bug too;
  • another player could not spawn a wolf-like enemy at a shrine;
  • a separate player reported an invisible sword after loading into the zone;
  • the developer replied that the report had been sent to the team.

These reports show a useful pattern, but they do not prove that every missing enemy, invisible weapon, or empty-looking map has one cause. Keep those symptoms separate in a support report.

Low-risk checks before reporting

The following steps are diagnostics, not a guaranteed fix:

  1. Let Steam or your console finish every update. The version reference is now v1.0.10, and the Fuji Frontier elite-spawn fix arrived in v1.0.9 — so an install stuck on v1.0.8 or earlier does not have it at all.
  2. Record the platform and build. Write down Steam, PS5, Xbox, or Xbox Game Pass, then capture the version shown by your installation.
  3. Leave and re-enter the zone after a full restart. This can distinguish a one-session loading problem from a repeatable quest-state problem; it does not repair a broken save state.
  4. Compare the quest marker with the map filter. The player-maintained Beast of Reincarnation interactive map can help identify whether you are at the intended Golem marker, but it cannot make an enemy spawn.
  5. Do not farm the visible Golems as a substitute for the target. If the required variant is missing, repeated kills may only waste time and can make the report harder to describe.

If the issue remains, capture the quest text, map position, missing target, platform, build, and the shortest repeatable sequence. The official launch support and fixes page explains why a reproducible report is more useful than a general “quest is broken” statement.

What is still not confirmed

The v1.0.9 note covers elite enemy spawning in the zone. Beyond that, the public evidence still does not establish:

  • that the quest-required headless Golem is one of the “elite enemies” the fix refers to;
  • that a save already stuck in the bugged quest state is repaired by installing the patch;
  • a reliable reload order that forces the headless Golem to spawn on an unpatched build;
  • a required story or exploration prerequisite;
  • a quest reset command or save-file repair;
  • that the fix reached PS5, Xbox, and Game Pass on the same day — the notes are titled PC patch notes;
  • that the invisible sword report is the same defect.

Do not delete a save or install an unofficial file replacement based on a forum guess. If a later official patch or developer reply names the headless Golem quest directly, this page should be updated with that version.

How the issue affects completion routes

Fuji Frontier is also represented in the site’s chapter checklist. The current Chapter 6 page reports 9 campsites, 5 Wayside Shrines, 0 documents, and 4 Keeper Golems. Those are collection targets, not proof that a quest target will spawn in a bugged save.

Use the Beast of Reincarnation Chapter 6 guide for normal route planning, but do not mark the quest complete merely because the region’s general Golem count looks correct. A quest-specific headless target and a generic Keeper Golem are different claims.

Current status

The right status label is now partly official: an elite-enemy spawn fix for this zone is published, and the exact quest target named in the community thread is not. The Steam thread remains useful because it contains cross-platform reports and a developer response; the 14-reply count may change as players add evidence.

Practical order of operations: patch to v1.0.10, re-enter the zone after a full restart, and only file a report if the target is still missing on the current build — that report is far more useful now, because it rules out the fix that already shipped.

For other shipped-game problems, compare the Beast of Reincarnation PC fixes and the patch series — v1.0.8, v1.0.9 and v1.0.10 — without assuming that a graphics fix applies to a progression bug.
