Beast of Reincarnation Lift, Extend & Exploration Routes

How Lift and Extend work in Beast of Reincarnation: vertical routes, gaps, air assassinations, campsites, and material sweeps.

Confirmed game info

Emma’s blight-stricken hair is Beast of Reincarnation’s main traversal tool. Launch coverage identifies two abilities that change how routes should be read: Lift for height and Extend for crossing a gap on a path Emma creates herself.

They are not exploration-only buttons. ScreenRant also documents both abilities as ways to begin combat from above, including air assassinations. This guide stays within those observed uses and does not claim a complete map, collectible route, or secret-area list.

Lift: hold jump for a long vertical rise

ScreenRant describes Lift as functioning like a long double jump. Hold the jump button and Emma’s hair raises her high enough to reach places that ordinary jumping cannot.

Use Lift when the route offers:

  • A ledge above normal jump height.
  • A broken structure with a visible landing point overhead.
  • High ground that can be used to look into the next encounter.
  • A possible descent onto an enemy below.

The source confirms the ability’s role, not a measured height or maximum horizontal carry. Judge each route by the visible landing surface rather than assuming Lift reaches every balcony in the environment.

Extend: create a straight path across a gap

Extend sends Emma’s hair outward in a straight line and creates a path she can walk across. ScreenRant presents it as the answer to gaps that do not have a normal bridge.

Before using it, check three things:

  1. The far landing. A visible ledge or platform is stronger evidence than empty scenery.
  2. The line of travel. Extend is described as a straight path, so do not assume it bends around an obstacle.
  3. What is below. The same path can become a combat platform if an enemy is under it.

This is also why exploration screenshots cannot prove a specific collectible location. The route depends on what the shipped build allows Emma to target and reach, not only on what appears in promotional scenery.

Use height to set up air assassinations

ScreenRant reports two confirmed combat openers:

  • Use Extend to create a path above a specific enemy, walk over it, and drop for an air assassination.
  • Time Lift to rise above enemies’ general awareness range, then fall onto a target for a quick assassination.

The safe interpretation is that both abilities can create the required height advantage. It is not evidence that every enemy can be instantly killed, that awareness always breaks at one fixed elevation, or that bosses accept the same assassination result.

For a boss-specific example, launch coverage of Rangifer reports an Extend route above the first arena that sets up an opening assassination. See the Rangifer Nushi boss guide for the sourced encounter details.

Water is a boundary, not an escape route

Kotaku’s launch tips report that Emma cannot swim. Entering water beyond the allowed route returns her to shore, and enemies can still be waiting there.

That changes two decisions:

  • Do not use deep water as an escape plan during a difficult fight.
  • When a route appears to continue across water, look for a permitted shallow path, an Extend crossing, or another traversal line instead of assuming a swim input exists.

This comes from Kotaku’s play of the shipped game, not from an official statement that every body of water behaves identically after future patches.

Sweep regions for Walker materials

Exploration is tied to equipment progression. ScreenRant reports that Koo discovers Generator Devices, Electronic Brains, and Memory Chips throughout the regions, and those items are deposited when Emma returns to the Cleanse Walker.

Lift and Extend therefore matter even when no treasure name is visible. A high side route or gap crossing can contain the progression object that removes a later weapon-upgrade gate. The Cleanse Walker upgrade materials guide explains the confirmed deposit loop without inventing coordinates.

Find the campsite before the arena

Kotaku advises scouting around a boss area before entering because most boss fights have a nearby campsite, and some are not in obvious positions. A campsite provides the checkpoint and upgrade opportunity you want before committing to the fight.

When a large enemy or sealed arena is visible:

  1. Stop moving directly toward it.
  2. Inspect nearby upper routes with Lift.
  3. Check gaps and structures that may accept Extend.
  4. Look for the campsite and activate it.
  5. Finish nearby Koo-discovered pickups before starting the fight.

This routine is especially useful because traversal, Walker materials, and boss preparation overlap in the same local sweep.

A route-reading checklist

Use this checklist without treating it as a map:

  • High ledge: test whether Lift provides a clear landing.
  • Straight gap: look for an Extend route to a visible platform.
  • Enemy below: decide whether the new height supports an air assassination.
  • Deep water: search for another route; Emma cannot swim.
  • Koo discovery: stop and collect it before leaving the region.
  • Boss silhouette or arena: find the nearby campsite first.
  • One-way drop: look back and identify how you will return before descending.

For the defensive inputs needed when an assassination does not end the encounter, use the parry, guard, dodge and controls guide. For the full early-game overview, use the launch-day beginner guide.

What remains unverified here

We have not published a complete world map, every Lift or Extend target, collectible coordinates, water-depth rules, assassination damage, enemy awareness distance, or a list of one-way routes. The abilities and practical uses above were checked against launch coverage on 2026-08-06.
