How Long Is Beast of Reincarnation? What Player Data Actually Shows

Beast of Reincarnation how long to beat: median reviewer playtime is 16.4 hours, and the global Nushi achievement rates show exactly where most players stop.

Confirmed game info

Short answer: a typical Beast of Reincarnation playthrough runs about 16 to 24 hours, and roughly one owner in four gets as deep as the achievement list tracks. Those two numbers come from different places and they are both measurable, so this page keeps them apart.

Game Freak has never published a campaign length for Beast of Reincarnation. What is public is how long the people writing Steam reviews had played when they wrote them, and what percentage of all owners holds each achievement — including the six named after the Nushi. Put together, those give a far more honest answer than a single “X hours” figure.

Six achievements are named after Nushi. Steam hides what each one requires, but it publishes how many owners have them — which is enough to see where players stop.

The playtime numbers

Measured across a 400-review sample of Steam reviews, using the playtime each reviewer had logged at the moment they posted:

MeasureHours
Median playtime at review16.4
Average playtime at review20.0
Lower quartile (25% had played less)3.7
Upper quartile (25% had played more)29.9
90th percentile43.2
Median total playtime now24.0

The gap between the two bolded rows is the useful part. Reviewers post at a median of 16.4 hours but their accounts now sit at a median of 24.0 hours — so the average reviewer wrote their verdict with roughly two-thirds of their eventual run behind them, then kept going. Treat 16 hours as “far enough to have an opinion” and the low-to-mid 20s as a realistic finish figure for a normal run.

Where players actually spend their hours

The same sample, grouped:

Playtime at reviewShare of reviewers
Under 2 hours16.8%
2–5 hours12.2%
5–10 hours11.2%
10–20 hours15.8%
20–40 hours32.2%
Over 40 hours11.8%

Two clusters, and they tell opposite stories. The largest single group — just under a third — sits at 20 to 40 hours, which is a full campaign plus side content. But 16.8% posted under two hours, the Steam refund window, and that is an unusually high figure. It lines up with the store’s Mixed rating: of 5,925 reviews, 3,467 are positive and 2,458 are negative, or 58.5% positive. A meaningful slice of the negative side is people who decided inside two hours, largely on performance and first-hour friction rather than on length. The player reception guide and PC performance fixes cover that separately.

Read the table the other way and it is encouraging: 44% of reviewers had passed 20 hours. Nobody is running out of game.

The completion funnel: where players stop

Steam publishes a global unlock percentage for every achievement, across all owners rather than only reviewers. One caveat first, and it matters: Valve hides the description on every Nushi-named achievement. What each one actually requires is not published, so this table lists the achievement names as Steam gives them and marks the hidden ones. The percentage is still a hard number — it tells you how many owners have reached that point, whatever triggers it.

AchievementDescription on SteamOwners who have it
First FireDiscover your first campsite92.6%
Blight-TouchedEnhance an attribute for the first time83.0%
Rangifer’s EndHidden53.5%
Place of ReturnDiscover your first shrine51.5%
Lacerta’s EndHidden43.9%
Taurus’s EndHidden34.9%
Corvus’s EndHidden28.4%
Green ThumbObtain every type of seedling26.8%
Koo de GrâceHidden25.7%
Ursa’s EndHidden25.1%
Shidou & NueHidden25.0%
Erymanth’s EndHidden24.8%
Kunai & KirinHidden24.6%
Life After the EndHidden24.4%
The End of ReincarnationHidden24.4%
Duty FulfilledUnlock every achievement2.8%

Three things fall out of that table.

Rangifer is the real filter. 92.6% of owners light a campfire; 53.5% hold Rangifer’s End. Nearly four in ten people who start the game never get that far. This site’s hands-on coverage puts Rangifer as the first Nushi you meet, and it is fought twice — so if you are stuck there, you are not an outlier. See the Rangifer fight guide and the parry, guard and dodge guide.

Rangifer’s End is more common than finding your first shrine (53.5% vs 51.5%), which puts that encounter very early — before the point where most people have settled into the exploration loop.

After Corvus the curve flattens into a cluster. Corvus 28.4% → Ursa 25.1% → Erymanth 24.8%, and then seven separate achievements sit inside a single point of each other between 25.7% and 24.4%. Once a player is past Corvus they very nearly always reach the bottom of that cluster. The drop-off is concentrated in the first half; the back half is a straight run. So “how long to beat” has a hidden second answer: the hard part is the first six hours, not the last six.

Adding hours after the credits

Full completion is a different scale of commitment, and the rates make that obvious:

  • Obtain every type of seedling — 26.8%
  • Obtain the manuals for every arrow and bolt type — 12.6%
  • Obtain every blade — 6.0%
  • Discover every campsite — 4.8%
  • Unlock every achievement — 2.8%

The collectible sets are what separates a 24-hour run from the 40-plus hours that 11.8% of reviewers have logged. The longest single account in the sample sits at 377.9 hours, which is a farming figure rather than a story one — see level 100 farming and the amber technique point farm for what that time goes into. New Game Plus is the other multiplier.

So how long will your run take?

Based on the distributions above, not on a guess:

  • Main progression, playing normally: 16–24 hours. That is the median-at-review to median-total band, and it is where the bulk of finishers sit.
  • Rushing it, skipping side content: 12–15 hours. Plausible from the lower quartile, but you will be under-levelled for the later Nushi.
  • Main progression plus most side content: 25–35 hours. The 32.2% cluster.
  • Everything, including collectible sets: 45 hours and up. Only about one player in nine gets here, and only 2.8% finish the achievement list.

Difficulty matters to all of these, and Beast of Reincarnation lets you change it — the difficulty modes guide covers what each setting does. Time spent stuck is the largest variable in every figure on this page.

What these numbers are not

Worth stating plainly, because a lot of “how long to beat” pages hide it:

  • Reviewers are not all players. People who post reviews skew toward people who played more. The real median across every owner is lower than 16.4 hours.
  • Playtime is wall-clock, not progress. It includes menus, deaths, farming and idling.
  • Achievement percentages count owners, not finishers. They include people who launched the game once, which is exactly why the first-campsite figure is 92.6% rather than 100%.
  • Hidden descriptions stay hidden here. Valve does not publish what any of the Nushi-named achievements require, so this page does not say what unlocks them or which one marks the credits. It reports the names and the rates.
  • No official length exists. Game Freak has not published one, and neither this page nor any other has access to one.
  • Percentages here were read on September 2, 2026, four weeks after the August 4 launch. Completion rates only ever rise.

For the achievement list itself see the achievements guide, and for the full set of Steam-named encounters see the boss achievement roadmap.
